Play PackRat on Facebook: our feverishly addictive new game

Looking for webdevelopers!

To whoever reads this:

my company, Filemobile is looking desperately for all sorts of web developers:

Especially people who are absolute hardcore

- html/css/javascript or
- php or
- flash (remoting etc)

Developers.

We are a small company (growing like something that grows really fast) based in Toronto, Canada.

Please mail me if you think you have what it takes to build social networking / 2.0 / media-centered websites / apps.

Cheers,

Siep

I do wish you success, but...
Please tidy up the language - there are ladies and children present

Serenity on Nov 08, 2007

yes, please fix the language, it's quite rude.

We built IconBuffet to be a happy, fun place to hang out. Please be thoughtful in what you post to the Blog Forum. We don't care for flames, trolls, or misguided, angry words.

But perhaps I can help you with the HTML/CSS/JS.

Serenity on Nov 08, 2007

still, have some respect for those of us who do not use that kind of language

MrDee on Nov 08, 2007

I was unsure if soprano was saying

@003Labs - Please be thoughtful in what you post to the Blog Forum

or

@MrDee - We don't care for flames, trolls, or misguided, angry words.

either way I for one would rather not have these sort of 'angry words' posted.

HTML/CSS/JS are fine for me, not so much PHP (as I do not have a server, I haven't had an opportunity to practice). Can you take people working from elsewhere?

Serenity on Nov 08, 2007

u took the words rite outta my mouth MrDee

Maybe the original post would have been better on Authentic Jobs. Just my humble opinion.

alethiophile - install server software on your computer? Did I read on another thread you are running Mac OS X? In which case simply enable the right option and you'll have it ready (you'll have to google where to find it, can't remember off the top of my head, hehe)

manon1165 Vip-micro on Nov 09, 2007

or you can MAMP (if you're on a mac), which makes PHP a snap to use locally...

soprano on Nov 09, 2007

@MrDee: I meant to direct my post to 003Labs.

@003Labs: Please remove the offensive language.

@alethiophile: Go to  > System Preferences > Sharing > Personal Web Sharing > Start, and you have Apache running. Going to http://127.0.0.1/~username/ will show you the contents of /Users/username/Sites/.

alethiophile on Nov 09, 2007

Cool. Though I am a Mac OS X guy, the only decently fast computer in the house is my Windows laptop. Thus, I don't really code on my (ancient) 10.3.9 Mac.

alethiophile on Nov 09, 2007

do remove the profanity, 003labs

Steax on Nov 09, 2007

I dare say I'd really think a few times before joining a company that states (and perhaps is) growing like such...

soprano on Nov 09, 2007

@alethiophile: I use 10.3.9

003Labs on Nov 09, 2007

ok sorry i thought this was just posted on my personal page..

Also, the html / php / flash is not a one man job, we just need people with really great skills on one (or more) of these areas.

003Labs on Nov 09, 2007

@ alethiophile:

perhaps :) we do, however, prefer people who can really join our team in the office.

soprano on Nov 09, 2007

@003Labs: I am in the same situation as alethiophile if you need off-site help.

alethiophile on Nov 09, 2007

@003Labs: Do your avatar, your name, and your username have anything at all to do with each other?

003Labs on Nov 09, 2007

no

alethiophile on Nov 09, 2007

one should expect not
mine don't really

003Labs on Nov 10, 2007

why are you asking?

AppleGeek on Nov 10, 2007

PHP Expert here, my actual page design skills are well, not so great.

PHP and MySQL are my specialties.

alethiophile on Nov 10, 2007

@003labs: it just seems a bit... odd... to have a picture of Optimus Prime as your avatar. (Is that correct?)
